This is gonna be a long comment so please bear with me. I can't even begin to explain how much "fated but forsaken" broke me. I read it for the second time yesterday and cried all the same as the first time. And I can't wait for the sequel. Because there are so many things left unsaid. They say the more you read a story the more your perspective changes. But no matter how hard I try I can't seem to find any redeeming qualities in jk.
1. He chose Ella over jm 3 times. Once when they were kids, and when he found that jm is his soulmate and finally after Ella told him to go after jm. Even then Jk dropped everything and chose Ella at the first issue.
2. This doesn't count all the heart wrenching things he said to jm.
3. There's also the fact that jk's human side was never in love with jm because from his pov, when jk had to choose Ella after finding out about the bond, only his wolf side seems to be affected.
4. And jk turned a blind eye to how the pack treated jm despite everything. And all the little things like how jk took Ella to the cave which was jm's sacred place. That was a terrible thing to do even as a friend.
5. Then when Ella died...6 months...that was so much worse than all the YEARS Jk ignored him. Yes, jk was grieving and he had every right to do so but the things he said. Nothing jk says or do will erase those. No matter how hard he try. And he never even apologized or did anything to earn jm's forgiveness.
So just because he went feral after jm's death doesn't do a thing to my heart as a reader. considering all this I can't wait to see how jikook will enfold in the sequel. Personally, I don't even want jm to end up with jk. At least I hope jm falls out of love with jk and won't be as forgiving as he was in the first part. I would like to hear your perspectives on this. Because I for the life of me can't like jk.
