As I said.. Diabolic Brothers has two different endings. If Wattpad version ended up being tragic, rest assured that the AO3 version has a happy ending. So please don’t be too sad.. because all the characters there get their happy endings (except Arthur, of course) ❤️❤️❤️

@leipeng99520 I’m fully aware of all of Xuning’s mistakes, and that’s actually one of the reasons why the AO3 version isn’t finished yet. There are still a lot of things that can happen, and I don’t want to rush his development or force a redemption simply because readers want an immediate resolution.
He will eventually acknowledge everything he did wrong, especially the things that happened between him and Liu Cheng. But for now, I’m trying to keep things realistic. They haven’t even met again yet, because Xuning is still locked up in prison. There has to be a process, and I want to let that process happen naturally within the story.

As I’ve said before, the AO3 version is specifically for Xuning and ZP. They’re already in completely different universes, which is why I decided to give them two different endings.

I’m not going to force you to read that version if you’re not comfortable with it ❤️❤️❤️

@leipeng99520 Second, regarding Arthur’s ending.. I understand why you felt that it wasn’t brutal enough or that it didn’t reach the level of satisfaction you were expecting. I’m not some highly experienced or seasoned author who knows exactly how to execute every difficult scene perfectly. I have my own limitations as a writer, especially when it comes to writing extremely brutal or violent conclusions. There is only so far that I personally feel comfortable going, and I have to acknowledge that limitation rather than forcing myself to write something simply because I think readers expect it from me. So if the ending didn’t satisfy readers because I didn’t reach the level of brutality or intensity they were hoping for, then I’m genuinely sorry about that. I don't mean that sarcastically or defensively. I understand that my writing may not always meet everyone's expectations, and I take responsibility for that.
But I also hope they can understand my side as the person actually writing the story. I can listen, reflect, and take criticism seriously, but I can’t promise that every suggestion will become part of the story. Some decisions will remain because they are what I believe fits the character

@leipeng99520 I read and tried to understand everything you shared, including all the concerns and frustrations you had with the story. First, about Ziyu.. I had already considered the possibility that, from a reader’s perspective, he might come across as someone who was simply there to fill the space ZP left behind, or that he might feel like a “replacement” rather than someone who naturally belongs in the story. I completely understand why that could bother some readers. But at the same time, that was a direction I intentionally chose for the AO3 version. It may not be the direction everyone would personally prefer, and I completely respect that. I listen to my readers, and I take their opinions seriously. I read the comments, I think about what they are trying to tell me, and I try to understand them. Readers feedback matters to me because they are also investing their time and emotions into something I wrote.
But I also have to trust my own judgment when it comes to the story I’m writing. There are certain decisions that I know might not satisfy everyone, but they are still decisions I made because they make sense to me and because that is the story I personally want to tell. I hope you can understand that listening to readers doesn’t necessarily mean I can or should change every part of the story according to what they want. Otherwise, I might eventually lose the direction and meaning I originally had for my own work. And honestly, even if someone calls me a stupid author because of the choices I make, I can accept that. I know I’m not a perfect writer, and I know there will always be things I could have written better. I’m still learning, too. But I also believe that being an author means having the courage to stand by certain choices, even when they aren’t universally loved

Hello, I just wanted to say something from the bottom of my heart.

So many of you have become more than just readers to me. Most of you are my mutuals on black app now and other platforms.. and some of you have become people I'm genuinely happy to interact with. That's why it makes me sad whenever I see arguments happening in the comments. I'm really sad, seeing people who used to get along now ending up on opposite sides, throwing hurtful words at each other.

The reason I decided to write Xuning and Zheng Peng version of Diabolic Brothers on A03 was never to divide anyone or create competition between the two versions. I actually did it because I wanted everyone to have a space where they could enjoy the pairing they love without constantly fighting over it. I hoped it would lessen the arguments, not create more. So this is all I want to ask from everyone.. I know it's impossible not to compare both versions. I understand that. It's normal to have preferences, favorite characters, ships, and different opinions. I can't stop anyone from comparing them, and I don't want to.

But please, if you already know your words might hurt the supporters of the other version, maybe it's better not to say them at all. You don't have to convince everyone to like your favorite pairing. You don't have to win every argument, because at the end of the day, we're all just here and loving the same story.

Whether you're supporting Tian Lei and Zheng Peng, or Xuning and Zheng Peng, I'm grateful that you're here.. but I don't want this community to become a place filled with anger instead of excitement for every update ❤️❤️❤️

It's funny how y'all came to my post just to argue. Also, stop acting like everyone has to love Xuning. No matter how much the author tries to redeem him, I'm still not convinced.

You're free to love Xuning and I'm free to dislike him. That's how opinions work and I still believe Xuning is one of the biggest reasons Tian Lei turned out the way he did.
