A former medical secretary, worn down by stress and depression, I gave up the long hours and short money to up sticks and move from a grimy industrial town in the North West of England, first to a pretty village on Royal Deeside, then to historic Old Aberdeen. A wise move, not only for the sake of my health, but for my writing career. Ten years and ten books, all inspired by the locale, the people and the language. 

When I'm not writing, I'm thinking about writing, and love nothing more than hatching plots and muttering dialogue whilst walking the parks and beach with my writing buddy and constant companion, Wee Archie the Jack Russell.

More often than not I am to be found haunting a corner of the Costa coffee shop at Waterstones - coffee and books - the perfect combination.

Currently working on TWO projects, both horror dramas using my pen name Lucy Pepperdine.
