These last few months I’ve been soooo freaking tired that I legit thought I was depressed. I was convinced there was no way I was mentally healthy with how fatigued, irritated, and un-motivated I was nearly constantly. I was so close to getting ready to search for some therapists in my area when I started getting physically sick. My mom convinced me to go to the doctor and turns out, all my blood levels are low, especially ferritin, iron, and vitamin D. My heavy periods, which I have been dealing with since my daughter was born 9 years ago were depleting my iron and hemoglobin levels so bad my blood cells are a fraction of the size they’re supposed to be and they’re empty, not saturated like they should be. I’m taking iron, vitamin c, vitamin d, and birth control pills to help lessen the flow of my period over time. It’s both amazing and scary how interconnected our body systems are. I was legit not acting like myself because I was low on these things. I say all this to say, go get your check ups people lol
