Android Wattpad users: is anyone else still dealing with this editing/loading bug?
The app isn’t crashing for me anymore, but when I open a story from the Author Dashboard, I still get a blank loading delay for around 4 seconds before it opens. That may not sound huge on paper, but when you’re actively trying to edit a story, 4 seconds feels like forever and it happens often enough to be really disruptive.
What’s weird is that if I back out and immediately reopen the same story, it usually loads instantly after that.
So I’m trying to figure out how widespread this still is on Android:
- are you getting a blank page or delay when opening stories to edit?
- does it happen from the Author Dashboard / pen icon?
- does reopening the same story make it load faster?
I’m curious if this is still affecting other Android writers too.

@cooler9 Totally understand! Just so you know, that story is actually a dark romance disguised as a murder mystery. The mystery is really just the background—the main focus is the emotional struggle and the tension between Rocky and Chase. If you ever change your mind and want to see how that dynamic plays out, it’s there! Otherwise, I also have this other, much softer Rocky x Chase's Love story I’ve been working on. It should be published on my already works list. Just check my profile.
