Hey guys! Good news: I'm not dead. Bad news: I also haven't written anything on Grigori, because I've figured out some important things--namely, that I can't actually finish it until I work out all the differences between the original version of Halfling and the newer version in my head. That involves some revising on my part that might get done sometime in the next few months. I feel rather guilty for that, so I'm considering reposting the original version, if you can excuse the poor quality, for you to enjoy Shaylynn's story (since I can't give you Grigori's). It's not really a fair trade, but would anyone be interested in seeing my angst-y writing from three years ago?

You're not dead! How very sensible of you!

Before you go hog wild on the posting, read this. http://www.writingforward.com/news-announcements/guest-posts/the-sweet-highs-and-sugar-crashes-of-writing-with-a-bestseller It may do nothing for you at all. For me, it gave me pause. Just think about it. An entire year to plan ONE BOOK. A year to write. A year to edit. So why are you rushing, dearheart? Step back. Examine the story from a wide angle lens and map it out. Then zoom in and figure out all the details. Then WRITE. Those of us lucky enough to see the final effort will stand and cheer, throw confetti, dance stupidly in the aisle. The impatient ones will miss out.

In other words, you have my permission to do as you please. I, for one, am willing to wait.

@MelissaKimFernandes I'm so glad you liked it! I'm also surprised that you liked it from the beginning, because I have trouble with starting my novels. I'm hoping to finish this book this summer when I'm out of school, but I will be working forty hour weeks, so it will be slow going. With any luck, my schoolwork will lessen and I can turn back to Grigori before then. :)

@Bakchoi79 I actually was almost halfway done with the next chapter...and then my laptop died, and I managed to recover my files, but I am currently working off of my external harddrive on my sister's laptop and I haven't had much time to write because my senior year is killing me slowly and painfully. When my year slows down, finishing chapter forty-one is my priority.

@JoElizabeth - Wow! this is one of the few really good stories I've come across here. And you had me hooked from the first page! I couldn't stop reading till I reached the last chapter! So I'm saying this, I will definitely wait for however long it takes for you to finish this, I really hope you can get back as soon as you can! Cheers! :)

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to those who don't! As a present (since I have no Grigori written...oops), I offer to you the prologue to a different novel that also is not completed...which now seems like a pretty terrible present. I love you guys? Please don't kill me. It's my birthday.
          Love, Jo

My dear, beloved, almost-certainly-angry fans,

I am a terrible Wattpadder. I am so, truly, incredibly apologetic that it is now more than a month since I last updated. It's probably also been close to that since I have written, because your senior year is NOT as easy as everyone swears it is (especially when you have three AP classes and a college course, and your electives involve a significant amount of studying). As of this moment, I have less than four hundred words written of the next chapter of Grigori because I haven't even had time to open my Word documents between Calculus, Biology, English, and Economics homework, various extracurricular activities, college applications, campus visits, and attempting to make a long-distance relationship work. I promise you, fans who have not forsaken me, that I will upload as soon as I can write the next chapter, and I'll try to make it fantastic to make up for the long wait (though it'll probably be disappointing anyway...). I hope that you can find it in your hearts to forgive me. (And yes, this is a terribly dramatic, excuse-filled apology. It's the best I can do.)

          Love (if you can),
          Jo
