No worries! In a way yes, I used gay because I thought I was only attracted to females, and since I came out as non binary and I have never exactly like using the term lesbian for myself I thought it was more appropriate and comfortable for me to say gay, however this was two/ three years ago when I said that, now I’m pan romantic asexual, I know that’s more confusing so I’ll spare you the details unless you want to know all the details.
