NEW AUTHOR, NEW BOOK!

I was looking over for new books to read (as if I didn't already have a mountainous reading list already and I came across @sophh02468 's "Book 1 Rues Of The Dead" and immediately fell in love with how well written the styles and tones of the story was. It's melodramatic, a touch of melancholy, set in the author's homebrewed world reminiscent of a period piece! Definitely recommending to read! It's new, fresh not unlike modern stories!

The story only has 5 chapters at the moment, recently released a couple days ago! Show @sophh02468 some love!

@sophh02468 Yeah, Wattpad inline comments are very wonky atm :P You can read any of my books available, whichever interests you really

Dinosaurs Don't Dance: Cowboys and dinosaurs, 1800s, with three main characters. Very heavy on the descriptions and an acquired taste for mature audiences with a "larger than life" kind of style

Mr. Big Banana: Adult themes between marriage complications for a p*rn star husband and his wife, addressing issues in addiction, anxiety, etc. It's still fresh and ongoing, so there aren't any explicit scenes just yet

Jade Fire: one-shot, easy and bite-sized read on the Great Wall's supernatural origins following an expeditionist. A little reminiscent of The Mummy franchise

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!

Late announcement on my part lol but it's been overall an alright (if not good) year both off and online. Reading stories, writing stories especially has been an ever-growing passion where I'm able to get out the creative juices . It's even more amazing that the few stories I wrote had flourished with the kind of readers that enjoy what I wrote. Progress from the beginning of 2024 to now? I couldn't be more proud and happy, especially with meeting new friends on Wattpad and off the keyboard. And this year, 2025, it's daunting but I'm kinda hopeful with what this new year can bring me.

All the best to everyone, do good in life, celebrate, have fun, seize your opportunities, and keep growing!

(I will also be clearing up the Conversation Board but keep a select few of memorable conversations. Kinda like spring cleaning for the new year lol)

Hi, I would just like to thank you so much for reading my story and providing constructive feedback on it. I know I’ve already left you a comment in the Awards book however, I would just like to reiterate how much I appreciate your review. Your review has really helped me understand what to focus on to edit and restructure my story NEPENTHE.
          All the best!

@joellesc Thank you again! I’m glad it was received well! All the best to you too! <3

@Twix345 Thank you as well! NEPENTHE really was a wonderful read. Borders on a mature (not the explicit kind of mature, but it was reminiscent to reading a classic with all these expanded descriptions), and pretty much my kind of taste in books. I'm glad the review helped too! At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide what's best for your story! Thank you again and good fortunes in the future! :D

DINOSAURS DON'T DANCE | FINISHED

AAAAAAAA IT'S DONE! I am released! God bless! I can finally click that "Status [Complete]" button and be done with it!

Hot damn, that was a lot of words all scrunched up into a book that apparently has the total estimated time of 8 whole hours and finished at 28 chapters in total (excluding misc. pages). I had so much trouble trying to figure out the ending. I kept writing, rewriting, had like 10 drafts of just weird "does this feel right?" before finally settling in with what is probably good enough. Go me!

My celebration aside, this does not mean I can relax around this book just yet. There are still things to do and I'm gathering up the important notes/criticisms I received in to improve (thank you reviewers and commenters!) the story. I will most likely start reviewing my own work, try to reduce the chapter word count, and edit the necessary pieces at the start of December perhaps, just to rest my eyes from looking at "Dinosaurs Don't Dance" and instead focus on other things.

For now, I will try to include the additions below:
          - Create new book cover
          - Q&A and Thank You page
          - Update Information

Other than that... That's it. "Dinosaurs Don't Dance" is done and I can focus on new goals! Thank you everyone, so, so, so much for the support you've thus far. The story has reached 2k reads, almost 1k votes, and I've rounded up to 200 followers since the beginning of the book's journey. Big milestones.

          Thank you, everyone!

JoelleSC

@Evan_Binley Of course, and it's a humbling notion to go about to to bring entertainment to the masses (and maybe something to learn along the way)! As for Fire King, yeah I'm gonna add that to my mountainous reading list lol
Reply

Evan_Binley

@JoelleSC @JoelleSC Actually, my latest story, Fire King, is actually all about the lines between science and magic being blurred. Part of the point is that it's all about someone's point of view, and how if that someone didn't understand the science enough, there is a strong possibility they might view an event as magical.

And although it was nice to win something, I honestly just like the idea that people are enjoying reading the stories I'm creating. I'm sure many people feel the same on this platform. Thank you for the congratulations. ❤️
Reply

JoelleSC

@Evan_Binley That definitely helps lol, I myself often skim articles just to see if something's plausible and blurs the line between magic and scientific with sci-fi. And hey! You won the Writer's Room contest, I just heard! That's amazing! Congratulations to you, big man! ✨️✨️

JoelleSC

@jcrnovels No worries, it was only suggestion from me. It's entirely up to you if you want to dedicate yourself into expanding "Dear Daughter" into a fully-fledged novel or novella. Other than that, best of luck to that short story contest! And if you need a listening ear, I gotchu

@JoelleSC well for now. I have enter a writing contest….. my first short story will me mystery/fiction/ horrow for my contest. I’m trying to find my genre I didn’t plan on a novel for Dear Daughter it was just a personal matter… but surely I’ll think about it besides ….I saw her a few times in my dreams…

@jcrnovels Saw your replies in your one-shot books (no worries lol), and it's very lovely to see your responses to my comments! Been wondering when you'll start writing up the full novel for "Dear Daughter". It truly felt like something I want to read up, something slice-of-life. Emotional premises or personal spaces like that often interesting reads!

@MauriceArh Definitely didn't expect a message coming from you. Man, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book — the phrases, explanations, the little twists and dialogue exchange kept me on the edge! Your work is far more appreciated and I'm definitely excited to read the follow ups of The Anomaly. Tremendous writing, love it!
