I trained to be a history and geography teacher at Sheffield City Training College, South Yorkshire, England. I taught humanities then history in a secondary school before deciding to devote all my time to writing. After writing a review of Ben Weider's book The Wars Against Napoleon on Amazon, Ben asked me to join the International Napoleonic Society - the INS in 2008. Since then I have written 20 articles for the Society. I was awarded the Legion of Merit in December 2010. These articles formed the basis for my own book The Real Napoleon which is now available on Amazon Kindle and Smashwords.

I like writing in many genres and my 23 titles on Kindle include Horror, Sci-Fi, History, Fantasy and Romance. Ongoing books include Zombie and Soul Survivor, both horror; The Weavers of Time, a Viking fantasy; and  Filey Brigg - a romance. I have also written 5 Great Sci-Fi's; 5 Great Histories; 5 Great Articles; 5 Great Romances ; and 5 Great short Stories.

On October 22nd my first article will be published in a new French magazine - Vive L'Empereur . It is called Napoleon, Tambora and Waterloo and describes how a volcanic eruption in April 1815 affected the Battle of Waterloo. It was the same eruption that caused the 'Year without a Summer' of 1816 and also caused the dull weather that led Mary Shelley to write Frankenstein.

I have a large library myself and enjoy reading widely. I play the piano and have written some music and songs in the past. I also enjoy walking in the countryside and visiting the many historical sites in England. Where I live in Conisbrough there is a Norman castle and the second oldest building in the North of England - Saint Peter's Church which was built in 750AD. You can still see scrapings on a wall were bored Medieval peasants scraped their knives and tools while waiting for the Church to open!
