Normally we look here to find a little something, for once, let that something be different. Let us try to be unique. Instead of plastering all the things I am, let's try starting with which I am not.
I'm neither smart nor wise or well learned.
I'm not a group, a place or a people.
I'm not a whole lot of things If I am to be honest. Yet, there is more to me than meets the eye. A whispered laugh, a quiet roar, an age-old soul lost far from shore. A closed book, secrets, pain. I'm the person slow dancing in the pouring rain.
I'm hidden, I am shy, I struggle, I forget how to cry.
I am. I am. I am.
Isn't that enough?
Question: What is reading to me?
Answer: Books and therefore reading, have always been an easy escape. It's the ability to discard my own narrative and explore the wonders and freedoms of another. Reading gives the chance to explore entire worlds, to be other people, be they better or worse. It's places and destinations beyond imagination with no correlation to any geographical coordinations other than the mountains and hills of the imagination. Reading is beauty, art, passion. It's a safe place of hidden lives etched between the bindings of a book. So, I ask the same; What is reading to you?
Me: I am a person who thinks that a conversation is but a means for two minds to joust, that banter is but a finely crafted weapon used to sweeten the bout. So beware the words, for they are mighty swords in the hands of duelists. With that I ask of thee, do you wield a blade of blunted wit or fine fencers epee?
The swan song had been sung
I shall rage against the dying of the light
Thank you for reading, I hope this has given you a glimpse beyond a list of self praise. Now, I shall ask of you one final thing. Please never focus on flaws. For flaws like floors are to be walked upon. We stand above them as we move towads our greatness. Focus on a single step forward, challenge tomorrow by beating the steps of yesterday. Yet, dont forget to LIVE, LOVE & LAUGH.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.- Lest We Forget!View all Conversations
