@Jordan_06872 Ok so I was thinking, Penny has been a few inches tall for quite a while. We’ve already seen many danger for her at her size. Why not change up the formula a bit, maybe have her shrink even smaller, to show she’s still being effected, and to make the stakes higher.
As for how she shrinks smaller… in this chapter maybe she gets up one night to get some water that Amy has placed down for her so she can easily get water at night at her tiny level. Just as she’s finished, she feels a tingling sensation and before she knows it, she’s shrunken far beyond what she was before, and is now bug-size. Maybe she has a run in with a mouse that when she was a few inches tall would’ve been slightly smaller than her, but now that she’s bug-sized, it dwarfs her many dozens of times over and seems keen on eating her.
There would be many possibilities for new dangers at a smaller size. And it would give Amy more urgency to figure out a way to reverse Penny’s condition, which could set up the second half or so of the story.
