I don't get why people are okay with shipping aroace characters with people, but when a lesbian is shipped with a guy, they immediately call that person out on it.
Take Amity and Lilith from The Owl House for example. Obviously shipping Amity with any guy is a no-no, and the fandom won't hesitate to call people out for doing it. But even though Lilith is confirmed aroace, people still ship her with Steve and I haven't seen anyone corrected for doing that. And I don't know Steven Universe that well, but I've been informed that the same can be said for shipping Peridot with Lapis, even though Peridot is canonically aroace.
Look, I'm all for shipping people you think would work well together, even if they're a rare pair and less common. Just don't invalidate people's sexualities while doing that. Aroace people should be respected just as much as any other identity.

@LumityFan77 I agree, and I’m not saying that people should go out of their way to hate on those shippers, but at the same time it makes me a little mad that these ships are happening in the first place. And don’t even get me STARTED on incest ships like Edric x Emira or Eda x Lilith-
