Weird how it works, you're convinced you know everything one moment, and the tiniest revelation shifts your entire worldview the next. It's hard to avoid feeling like an idiot. 

To stick uncompromisingly to an ideal, imposing as a boulder, or to be flexible, adaptive like a mouse? Which is better? Is there a middle ground between the two? 

Perception is powerful, but at what point is it rendered useless by an absolute truth? Or, is the truth determined by perception? 

There are as many different ways of concentrating as there are ways to look at a situation/subject. It's valuable to be able to see through a different set of eyes, as a situation demands it. 

Visualization is an important part of being, and becoming.

Looking back in my life, how I was always in a constant state of perpetually, frantically improving myself, I think I can see that my different ways of looking at the world weren't wrong. Even after having thought myself "evolved" past them. It's not a matter of different ways of thinking being wrong, but a matter of different ways of thinking being suited to different situations. 

There's something true to the whole "do things hard for you enough times and they become natural" thing, after all. That's really encouraging. It feels like a lot more doors are open, all of the sudden. Maybe hard work and effort *can* actually make a difference

The human mind is very effective at either inconveniencing or helping. It just depends on what you choose to focus on. 

You know, I've found that sitting alone in a dark room and seriously meditating on what's been going on with your life makes for an excellent teacher. Writing coach, too. 

The end of a decade comes to an end. I can only imagine how our culture will evolve, going forward. Many series I follow will be gone in a decade. I'll be completely different from how I am now. The thought is a scary one. It's exciting, too. Oh well. There's nothing to do when standing at the crossroads, dipping's one feet into the waters of the unknown, other than taking a full dive straight into the water. I hope that we'll figure out which way is up and which one's down when we plunge into the coming decade. Happy new year everyone, and happy rest of the year too.
