I was having Thanksgiving lunch when my friend Jay, who had just returned from the mental hospital, was called away by a teacher. I told him to go so he wouldn’t get in trouble. Soon, another teacher took me to the stage, but I didn’t understand what was happening. I got nervous and started crying when I heard a loud bang from behind the curtain where Jay was. I saw a desk on the floor and started crying even more, feeling overwhelmed.
Teachers noticed me crying and asked what was wrong, but I just wanted to run away. I ended up yelling for my mom and refused to go behind the curtain. An assistant principal came and asked what happened, but I didn’t want a search. She offered to let me talk to my mom if I went to the nurse's room, but I insisted on calling her from the office. I struggled to explain everything to her while waiting, and I felt like the situation was getting out of control.
When my mom arrived 30 minutes later, she talked to the teacher, who took Jay, then took me home. I was shaking, fell asleep, and my mom said I cried in my sleep. I still felt sick, but came to school today.
