Hello, All! It's been a very long time since I was on. I thought I'd update anyone interested. In January, the Lord gave me my dream job, a librarian at my local library. I absolutely love it! My boss is a committed Christian, and so sweet.
Last month, my boss, our library director, let me know that she is ready to retire, and asked if I would be willing to learn the job. So now I'm learning to run the library in anticipatory of the director's retirement! This week, I shouldered all of the responsibility with the director merely monitoring my work. So far, my biggest challenges are book orders, and digitization. Deciding which books to order is really hard! My book budget is awesome, but making sure I order what people will want to read is the trick. And modernization! I'm the only person on staff who's computer- literate, so now I have to update all of the ordering systems. Oh, and dealing with the board is kind of a headache, too lol.
Anyway, that's why I'm not writing, currently. What an arc! I've gone from avid reader, to writer, to library collection manager. (And activities director, but that's another story.)
