Hi Justapoet, I've read six or seven of your poems now and I see some real promise in your writing. It's obvious that several are written from a place of pain or with the understanding of those who are suffering. This "confessional" style of poetry was best seen in the work of Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath and others of that era. If you haven't read some of those you might enjoy exploring them. I particularly like your poem "The Beast" as it offered more complexity with a good metaphor. You should definitely keep at the craft of poetry, looking to broaden your approach to subject matter and style, perhaps experimenting with various structures as well. Thank you for alerting me to your work.
