People criticizing a werewolf story for lack of imagination and proper grammar don't realize, that's almost every story in the genre. OMG Rogues are attacking and we have to merge packs. Oh no, the white wolf luna is the only that can save the entire werewolf species, but shes only 14yo. How can she save the world when she's dealing with her aggressive, obsessive, jealous, asshole alpha of a mate who likes to sleep around. lol she is such a nerd i'm sure she'll figure it out because she's a badass now. We all know how these stories end. She gets the guy and a family and the bad guys die.
Why are these authors so afraid of writing a tragedy? That's how life is, I know we want to escape it, but are we really escaping if its the same stories over and over. Life is a tragedy and it's up to us to find the good in it.
These stories, if the character gets exactly what they wanted in at the start of the story how far did they really come? Why does she always need to find love? How come at the end of the story she just can't realize that just because she doesn't have a man doesn't mean her life is empty.
I know these are young writers but lets face it writers regardless of age are supposed to make you believe in the experience. How many of us are werewolves? Vampires? Witchs? How many have given birth? raped? abused? Writers are artists that need to convey the feelings and experience. Not every story should be the same thing. Girl is abused, girl finds mate who abandons her, girl changes self, comes back a badass, rogue threat, gets mate or another guy equally hot, everything is resolved, 5year jump she has a family and everything she ever wanted. That's no fun.
