I'm head-over-heels in obsession land with coming of age stories, romance, teen fiction, and am instinctively drawn to tragedy and heartbreak like a Twinkie on a stick dangled right over my nose. Usually a combination of those two will unknowingly lead to some tragic ending that was very unexpected, but, hey, what can I say--I love it. 

Although I'd be more than glad if someone were to recommend a book or story that has a happy ending, I haven't been getting too many of those lately.

But hey, friend, I eat up tragedy and sadness like cheap hostess cakes on a platter. So by all means, recommend me those too.
