Y'all, people faking mental illness is a problem. Especially for me, who actually suffers from autism, OCD, and ADHD, all properly diagnosed by an experienced expert. At my school, there is a girl that fakes depression. I have suffered from depression since I was 10, and I know what depression looks like. I have cared for many family members who have suffered from depression in the past, and I know what it looks like. Depression isn’t magically cured by people saying, “OMG you poor thing!” When you have depression, you don’t go around at school saying “ugh, I’m so depressed. I have depression.” That is just pick-me attitude. So do I have to go around saying I have depression for people to actually care? Or do I have to show actual depression symptoms, for people to just say I’m being dramatic or over sensitive? What do y’all think about this?
