Oh! And I always thought it was kinda silly that I work in IT support and I'm really good at it, but I really suck at math. Then I realized; I suck at math, but I'm good at puzzles
Today, I had to troubleshoot a computer that wouldn't turn on. when things are seriously wrong with computers, it'll beep, but each beep means something different (this is called beep codes) (ex; three beeps means RAM/memory failure. Four means processor failure, ect)
First, it gave me the beep code for processor failure. So I replaced the processor, then it gave me the beep code for memory failure. So, one by one, I tested each RAM stick by powering the computer on with only one ram stick until all of them were tested. All of them came back bad. I tried new ram sticks, they came back bad too.
Then I realized, it's a motherboard issue. The sockets aren't reading the modules
We tested all the parts in a computer where we knew for sure the motherboard was working, and sure enough, they worked just fine :]
Idk I'm really proud of myself for that, that's the first big project I've worked on and got right without help >:D
