Based on some more feedback... I just spent a long time completely rewriting my first chapter. Feel like I've rewritten that one 50+ times now. For whatever reason, it's clearly the most difficult chapter in the entire book to get just right. So much is dependent on that chapter! So scary.

I have been doing tons of edits in Scrivener, the program I use to write the main copy of my book, and feeling tired of constantly updating Wattpad lol. Do other people have this problem, too? I am thinking about taking my book offline for a little while until I finish more edits...
          
          Also apologies for falling behind on reading! Hoping to catch up very soon. It's been hectic lately.

I hired an artist to make a new, more detailed map! And he did such a good job! Check it out!

Well, I have decided to majorly rewrite my book yet again. I need to tighten the writing, cut out needless filtering words, add more descriptions and physical sensations, and make sure readers have enough room to breathe after emotional peaks... The characters/plot/world/events are in place, but now I need to hunker down and refine the writing. 
          
          It's actually pretty fun going back with a fine-tooth comb, chapter by chapter, word by word, and ensuring each chapter is the best it can be. But sadly, that means the book will not be truly "complete" for quite some time. To be continued, I suppose...

omg I just completely and utterly rewrote an entire chapter, like spent three days reconstructing it. It was... not great. But I'm glad I did it.
          
          Writing long chapters where characters are alone is a challenge! I am so used to writing character dialog and interaction that it's like, wtf do I do now if she's alone for so long hahaha 
          
          But I did some research and looked up tips and tricks... and it's such a strong chapter now. So glad I have the time to work on this...

I like my current map but thinking about hiring an artist to make a new one, something that looks hand-sketched and has an old medieval feel to it...
          
          My birthday is coming up, maybe this will be my gift to myself :) Haha

Something fun about Wattpad I'm realizing is that you can keep editing something even after it's posted... I just revamped my prologue a bit. And I am revising other chapters here and there to really make the writing pop. 
          
          But! I am looking into self-publishing the book soon so a print version is available, too. Would be exciting to have for sure.

Kinda frustrated with how Wattpad compresses the book cover images so much... may try out another version of my cover, something more abstract that won't look so bad compressed... bear with me haha, I promise I will settle on a cover soon :)

Thanks to everyone reading my book and commenting! And sorry if I don't reply... unfortunately, I am unemployed again! The research grant that was funding me has run out. Back to the job search... Hopefully I can find some time to keep writing though. I am pretty eager to get Book 2 out there...
