          Let's be different this time.
          
          Learning a language is a good thing.
          Even though I’ve published many stories, I’ve often felt they weren’t enough to truly introduce a part of my language and culture to the world. I come from a small region, but I am proud—proud to be from the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. We are Kurds, a people known for our courage, who have endured many hardships to get where we are today.
          
          Many Kurdish mothers still long to see the sons they lost—sons who gave their lives for this land. Many children, many women carry that same grief, missing those who sacrificed everything for our homeland. And even now, there are those who continue to sacrifice for our future.
          
          Yes, it’s true: in 1923, our homeland was divided into four parts. But we are still here.
          We are still alive.
          And we will continue to live.
          
          As part of my duty to my people and culture, I’ve decided to publish a book on learning the Kurdish language.
          Even though it focuses on just one dialect—Sorani, one of the main dialects of Kurdish—I believe it is an important step toward keeping our language alive and accessible.
          
          Language is more than just words. It carries the memory, identity, and spirit of a people. By teaching Sorani, I hope to share not just a way of speaking, but a way of seeing the world through Kurdish eyes. My goal is to help others learn, connect, and understand the rich cultural heritage of the Kurdish people—especially those from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
          
          This book is a small contribution, but I hope it becomes part of something greater: a future where our language is spoken proudly and passed on to generations to come.
