@loustrous Mhmm, I can see why people leave and why people stay, for one it's a sight based off of stories (there are plenty, but AO3 simply has better quality), and it's a beginner site, though, it's still fun and has an amazing amount of great stories and people you can make friends with. It's like a mash up of Fictionpress and facebook. There are a lot of pressure too, since it's a beginner site, lots of people are just really young and naive with that they type. I know Emma got tired of it and overwhelmed, but what she's doing now is probably better for her than staying here if it was bad enough to cause a random depart.
:(
That doesn't sound right at all, whether something has happened to her life, it's too bad she shut us out. But maybe Virginia just got tired of the expectation of having to be online on top of that. I know when I get too much, I leave for a while. I hope she's just taking time for herself in a positive way.
Well, technically it is a Beta, but if I were to change any content I would be re-writing, (spelling, punctuation, grammar, and mechanics are fine for Beta's to point out) but anything else and you'd be posting something with plagiarism because it wouldn't be "your" writing, it would be part mine as well and it wouldn't help you improve anything. Revising is the main idea of a Beta, along with editing those things I mentioned, and it's wayyyyy more helpful than someone changing what you wrote for their own words and calling it correct. Since everyone has their own unique writing style, I wouldn't want to change yours.
But yes, I'd be more than happy to Beta and give you feedback on any of your works~
