          I think it's kinda obvious that Bot and Poppy are core characters. But some of the new youth, such as OJ's children do become more important as the chapters progress.
          
          The Bright Lights, (what's left of them anyway) are very important for the current ark.
          
          Some infected characters will become more important study wise, I won't say who though.
          
          Candle is important later. Won't say why. Big spoiler.
