Some people are already getting into the Christmas spirit. Yes, Christmas. As the song says, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. And I’m not gonna mention the troublesome times we’ve had this year. It may only be August and there’s other ways about it, but we need some positive vibes right about now.
I mentioned Christmas to say this. About 5 or so years ago, I started writing a story called Christmas Belles. This story is my personal favorite and to my fellow authors, I’m sure you can all relate to this when I say that I can relate to this story in a way. But more or less the main character. Why? Because I see myself in her. I can’t remember if it was intended that way or not, but that’s how she is. Bella Hayes is me. She’s compassionate towards family and loves kids, she loves music and theater, and she’s always dreamed of happily ever after.
Call me crazy if you want, but I’m just one of those already finding myself getting into the Christmas spirit. Listening to music specifically and picking back up on the story.
I wanted to just quickly mention something near and dear to my heart. I’ve been married for 7 weeks (June 27th) and when I was making plans for the big day, there were moments when I felt stressed. On top of that, I’ve been diabetic since April/May of 2017 and had mild depression since Summer 18/19 (time passes in a way you can’t remember some things). I say that because I wanted to share a quote from Christmas Belles.
In the particular scene that’s being played out, Bella is consoling in her mother as she’s feeling stressed. Her fiancé is out of town and she’s feeling stressed by the planning. Her mother is trying to comfort her and one thing she says is this.
A healthy mind is a healthy heart.
You can switch ‘mind’ and ‘heart’ around but it’d still be sending the same message: whatever is troubling you, give it to God.
Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God believe also in me. - John 14:1 KJV
