Why ARE the stories with incomplete endings and with Continuations that takes long period of Time to be completed?

It is REALLY disgusting that some of wattpads writer can hardly complete their stories. What ARE we ready is it a book or a comics? That it need to awaits it to be completed. We read to be entertaines and EXPECT it to he finish yet many of this books and stories awaits to be completed for some  reason or the other. It is SO frustrating. A GOOD WRITER KNOWS AND FINISH THEIR STORIES.
