Kate Heicksen is a wordsmith and ceramic artist. She wrote a few children's stories years ago when her kids were little. Now, many years later, she is hoping her daughter will illustrate her children's stories for her, because her daughter is an incredibly talented artist. Kate is also writing a full length science fiction novel that won't need any illustrations at all! When she has writer's block, she procrastinates by creating functional ceramic art. She is mostly known for her sgraffito stoneware that features winter trees and ravens. Some day, in the not too distant future, she will be well known for her writing. Her current project is already a real page turner.
