This was the year that none of us saw coming. A year filled with heartache, lots of defeats and it would seem little triumphs. My year was taken over by working as a nurse during a global pandemic, a global pandemic that half my country believes is a hoax, but that’s a whole other mess. My year was spent distancing from all those I love for fear I would get them sick. My year that has come full circle and I am ending it curled up at home, on lockdown, while I recover from Covid. On the other side, this year we saw so many people and communities come together to help those less fortunate. This year I built stronger relationships with co-workers and friends who have become like family when I cannot be around my own. This year we also saw our country vote out a man who had no business running a country to begin with (hallelujah, now can someone explain why Mitch McConnell is still there?). 2020 has taken a lot out of us all in more ways than just one, but as one of my favorite quotes says, “Bad days build better days.” None of us knows what 2021 is going to bring, but we can only hope that it will be better days. Happy New Year and bless you all. ♥️
