So, I've already started work on my 18th chapter. Again, I can't promise that I'll get it out in quick succession. What I can tell you that it will be different from other chapters in terms of pacing. What I'm going to do is depict a thorough passage of time, which is a departure from the usual day-by-day storytelling that most of my book is accustomed to. The challenge is how I'll do this without breaking the usual flow. And no, it's NOT to be a 2-year timeskip or anything. It's more like what you see in the movies with training montages.

@KayJDainty Training montage in a book is a fun challenge. Usually, when adapted the other way around, the movie version is just a more engaging, visual way to show a high-level, dry third-person narration ("during those two months, character did this and that, achieving something but not something else, etc."). I understand you want to keep it real-time and ground-level, but still depict large-scale changes. Good luck, it's interesting what you will come up with.

Happy New Year, everybody! I don't usually make NY resolutions anymore, but one of them is hopefully to finish my book.
