Hey friends! My name is Kaya and I'm from Canada! My goal in writing is to help normalize the existence of racial, gender, and sexual minorities as well as neurodivergent folks! I'm a strong advocate for mental health awareness and LGBTQ+ rights. I hope that above all else, my writing can help someone to feel less alone.

My current project is a trilogy of books, loosely linked by the theme: An Experiment in Death

The first of the series and my current project is currently titled: "The Ashes We Carry: Lyra's Journey"

It's about a backpacking trip across Europe on which two people brought together by their shared grief find solace in each other. Despite being a story about grief, it is not meant to be an overly sad or depressing narrative. My characters have good days and bad days, just like anyone else. My intention is to illustrate that healing is not a linear process. Grief is complex and not everyone experiences it in the same way.  Not everyone heals according to the same schedule.
