~ SNEAK PEAK OF THE MERGE UPDATE - COMING SOON ~
MG drew out of the long driveway in the SUV as Lizzie drummed her fingers against the window to the rhythm of the obnoxiously loud disco music coming from the stereo. There was a pointed tension hanging over Lizzie and MG, as MG obviously was desperate to ask what Josie had meant earlier, but he didn't want to upset Lizzie who he knew wouldn't even answer anyway.
They drove in this strained silence for around fifteen minutes, until Lizzie let out a quiet whimper as they sped past the Mystic Falls boundary sign. The realisation of how severe her choice was just hit her, as she acknowledged that she would never return to Mystic Falls. Never wake up in her bedroom with Josie beside her. Never even sit at the back of another first period class.
"Lizzie, are you okay?" MG asked worriedly.
"I don't want to talk," she replied shortly, trying to stop the tears as she knew if she let herself start crying she wouldn't be able to stop. She had lost everything, and in the process had shattered her twin sister's world.
"Milton, I left her. I knew what it would do to her but I just had to do it anyway. It's my fault," she sobbed.
