I eat way too much sugar, and am a (Texas) forever fan of Friday Night Lights. I'm an insomniac. I think 21 Jump Street is the greatest high school movie ever made. I like to knit. I love turtles. I get overly excited about baseball, ramen and Burmese food. My great-grandfather was deported for being an opium dealer, and my own life is not nearly so exciting. I arrange my books by color.
I'm the author of CONVICTION, about a high school baseball star named Braden whose Christian talk show host father is accused of murdering a cop, releasing in May 2015 from Disney-Hyperion; and NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY, releasing in 2016. I have an MFA from San Francisco State and am represented by Adriann Ranta of Wolf Literary. I'm a member of the NaNoWriMo Associate Board, and love talking creative writing with teens.
