@KelseaLloyd basically Ashton lost his wife Bonnie at childbirth, when they had their daughter Stella(age5). He finds it difficult to cope but still loves his daughter too much to give up. When she starts to grow, it gets harder for him to actually let her grow up. He's afraid of being alone again. Etc.....
