Hey everyone! Just wanted to say how excited I am for season two of The Marvels! Still sticking to the early 2027 plan. I'm having so much fun writing it and am genuinely so stoked to share it with you!

I'm also working on the next chapter of The Gifted, that should be up within the next two weeks!

Hi there, Kelsey! :)

So since just reading your Sudden Superhero story, I was just wondering if there's a chance you could do another superhero story taking place in high school but about a young superhero without powers trying to prove himself (something like Kick-Ass)

Tell me what do you think. :)

samkresil100

@Kelsea_Dove Hey did you get this?
Balas

samkresil100

@Kelsea_Dove Okay that's fine.

I was just thinking it could be something like your story but the main character has no powers but likes to imagine himself as a superhero with powers, making him like a wannabe superhero. (which is what I'm basically working on for my story)

Let me when you're done with those other stories :)

@samkresil100 hi! Thank you for reading Sudden Superhero, I really appreciate it! In terms of super stories, right now I'm focusing on the sequel to The Marvels, and after that, I'll be continuing The League series. While I haven't completely ruled out doing another teen hero book, it's not in the cards for me now :)

Hello!

I just started reading Elementals (I have also read Sudden Superhero) and I was bored so I decided to make a little gift for you :3

I essentially just did my own spin to it's cover—not that yours is bad, I was just bored lol. Let me know what you think?

SloanAckers

@Kelsea_Dove Yay! Glad you like it :3

Kelsea_Dove

@SloanAckers I got it this time! It's really pretty, thank you for sharing it with me :)

Irresponsible_Ink

Hi Kelsea. I tried to message you privately but it wouldn’t let me lol. I’m currently looking for writers to help out with an anti-AI charity project I’m working on and I thought you’d be perfect for it. Let me know if you’re interested.

Kelsea_Dove

@Irresponsible_Ink hey! I unfortunately don't have the time to take on any projects at the moment, but please let me know when your project is up and running, I'll gladly post a link to it on here!!! And good luck of course!!

Radscha12

Hello Kelsea Dove. I wanted to ask why you haven't finished The Gifted yet. All your other books, especially the ones after The Gifted are finished, so it looks kind of weird to have this specific book unfinished.

Radscha12

Thank you for the answer! Do you think Death will make another appearance? Since I don't see any narrative reason for her to reappear, I am curious if you intend to possibly make her reappear.

Kelsea_Dove

@Radscha12 hey! The reason I haven't finished The Gifted yet is because this is the only book where I write and post chapter by chapter. While I do have an outline, I don't write several chapters ahead and then come back to edit like I do with the other books, so I spend a lot of time on the current chapter of The Gifted because I'll publish it as soon as it's done! It's a process I started back in 2019 because I wanted myself to adapt to what I already wrote versus being able to go back and change things like I do with all the other stories' draft chapters, and I've just stuck to that philosophy for this specific book! I apologize for the slow updates, I know it must be frustrating, but I do know what direction it's going in and I will be finishing it!!!

marvelworld96

So without even reading the Unexpected Consequences story, is it actually last in your Superhero series?

marvelworld96

@Kelsea_Dove Thats fine. I don't intend to anyway. I was thinking of some my characters for my story but still paint them with somewhat similar personalities from your story.

            But thank you! :)
Balas

Kelsea_Dove

@marvelworld96 you can use my story as inspiration as long as you're not copying character names or implying that your story is associated with mine :) as long as it's clear that it's your own original work and that I don't have anything to do with it, it's fine!
Balas

marvelworld96

@Kelsea_Dove Oh ok. Its just that after I finished reading your story, I asked you by my other username @samkresil100 if its possible if I could use your stories as inspiration for my own story if thats okay. Because I'd like to this it as an opportunity to improve as a writer in the future.

SavvyDave

Hi Kelsea Dove! Did you change Peter's surname from McGuire to McKay? Or this is just another Mandela effect?

Kelsea_Dove

@SavvyDave I did! I originally had Maguire as an homage to the first spiderman actor, and I know my story follows a spiderman-like plot with the teenage hero in high school, but I think that surname and me acknowledging the homage in my replies made commenters try to connect everything to spiderman homecoming, which wasn't my intention, so I've changed it. I didn't mind the comments, but it felt like everyone was really digging into it, and I didn't want anyone to think this was a fanfiction or a retelling (my fault for naming him Peter, honestly). I wrote that story when I was sixteen and wasn't really thinking about how weird it was to make an original story but include an homage that made the rest of the story feel like a retelling, haha. You're the first one who's noticed!

Hey Kelsea, how are you? I was just reading your untitled chapter in your Sudden Superhero story and I just noticed a brief bit where Dana tells off Peter saying "not to mess anything up"

It just gave me an idea: What if that could be the title for your chapter? "Don't Mess Anything Up"

          What do you think?

Kelsea_Dove

I just updated the Categories to Story Types for all of my work! It looks like 'superhero' is being included as a sub-genre under Science Fiction, and I'm pretty happy to see that.

I'm currently on chapter 23 of season two of The Marvels. I recently finished the entire outline (my outline/notes document is 30,370 words, guys, it's a novella in itself), which means it's just typing and editing from here. I know it's been a long time since the first book, but I am genuinely so, so excited for you all to read the sequel! I maintain the plan to start posting either late winter 2026 or early 2027, I'll let you know if anything changes.

Hope you all have a lovely summer!

az15183

Hello , I wanted to ask if ' The Marvel's ' was inspired by ' The boys ' ?

az15183

@az15183 ah , I see! I haven't watched the boys either but someone I was talking to , are and so I googled and the anti hero , shady company ( saw the description of it ) made me ask this question. Yeah , I have heard it's good too.

Ohh! Thankyou for letting me know :)
