My name is Keoki Nalu Nunies. I am a lifelong student. I started my academic career at the University of Hawaii at Manoa earning my Bachelor's degree in English. Then, I completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix, I completed my Master of Arts in English, last year, at Southern New Hampshire University. I can go on and on with my other degrees and academic experiences which include psychology, public policy, and public administration; however, my main focus this time in my life is the study of science-fiction and fantasy writing.
After reading many wonderful novels, seeing wonderful movies, and going to live performances, filled with many creative twists and unforgettable endings, I want to be that person who can create new realms at the drop of my fingers on the keyboard.
When I was in high school, I wrote a poem that won a contest called "Insomnia Man." Then, in college, I wrote a story that would most resemble "the Snorks" for those of you who love to watch Saturday morning cartoons. When my instructor told me that I may be an awesome writer for either Disney or and adult magazine, I thought she was absolutely out of her mind; however, she is one of my many mentors whom I will remember until the end of my days. After a long hiatus from public writing, I have kept a journal off and on for about 23 years. Then, I started writing blogs and am a member of tutor.com and textbroker.com.
Today, I read mostly non-fiction, on the topic of personal development. John Maxwell, Jim Rohn, and Dale Carnegie are among the few men that I would like to emulate, but in the fiction genre. I consider myself a writer because I love retelling stories from the news or current events. But, I consider myself a writer at this present moment because I love to read and create imaginary worlds with words on paper.
