John spent just short of 35 years serving in the New Zealand Defence Force as an Air Force pilot, flying instructor, and squadron commander, before a number of varied and interesting appointments that included a tour in Afghanistan. He went on to senior roles in the Public Sector.
John now lives and works with his wife Sally at their Outdoor Centre (www.makahika.co.nz) where they provide outdoor experiences to folk of all ages and backgrounds.
