Ok yall, imma be up and honest…

I don’t ship greenflame anymore. I’ve kinda grown out of it because I realize I REALLY like the RGB sibling dynamic much better, and the whole “Kai helped raise Lloyd” thing is a little offsetting. I don’t mind if I read it (I have actually read so many works I’m still keeping up with by very talented writers throughout my time on this app) but I don’t want to write it anymore. At this point I ONLY see Kai as Lloyd’s brother because they’re just so wholesome when supporting each other.

I’ve actually really been into to greenflower, or Lloyd x Brad (the black-haired kid who took him hostage at Darkley’s in season 1 if you don’t remember) which is actually a reaaallly cute ship.

I won’t delete any of my books, but I’m finished writing greenflame for good. Actually, I might rewrite OMCZ but replace Kai with Brad and post it on Ao3.

This may be goodbye, or it may not, but I don’t want to be associated as being a greenflame writer anymore. Thank you all so much, you have been the greatest readers an amateur-writer-nobody could ask for. <3

@Kestrel_6 That's fair, in all honesty. I kind of grew out of the Greenflame ship too, but I still have some of their stories saved in my reading lists. The RGB sibling dynamic is really wholesome too, I agree.
I never once thought about Greenflower (Lloyd x Brad), but now that you mention it, it does seem kind of cute.
Either way, whether you keep up with Greenflame or not, it's all good. You always have a say in what you want to write. I'm looking forward to the OMCZ Brad edition though, if you ever post it on Ao3!

Follow Up Question for my long-time and new readers:

When does angst become too much?

Because let’s just say…chapter 13 is no longer my angstiest chapter :/

@Kestrel_6 Angst can never become too much!!! Though, maybe don't listen to my advice. My opinion may be biased... definitely not because my own stories are filled with angst or anything...

Guys I made a mistake

I named a hawk I was planning on killing off in a story of mine

          I am in pain now

@Kestrel_6 Why do we love to torture ourselves and our readers as writers, that's my question. :/

@ Kestrel_6 kestrel- if you're gonna kill something then don't name it, you're gonna get attached to it X(

Please don't pass over this announcement! What I have to say is very important.

          Heyyyy girlllllll

          Guess who's still here?

Life has been...a lot lately. I'm fine! Don't worry. I'm currently finishing up school and getting ready for summer. Recently I began journaling/scrapbooking to give myself some ease and a way to vent, and I ended up ranting through poetry.

And holy crap was it a good poem.

I want to publish it for a multitude of reasons, but I find myself hesitating because it is VERY different from my usual works. The poem is completely made up of my raw unfiltered emotions and is VERY depressing, but...I feel like it's something people need to hear for some reason. I don't know, maybe that's the psychiatrist in me speaking, or maybe it's midnight and I don't know what the heck I'm talking about. Nonetheless, I have it all planned out and ready to publish but I mean it when I say it is depressing.

I want to know how you feel about it, and PLEASE don't be a silent reader. I genuinely want to know what your take is on the information I have just given you. I KNOW there's like 70 people who get this notification so there's no reason why only one person should be getting back to me lol.

          Please let me know!

Hey girl, I read a few of your works in Ninjago fics and I loved them, and I just want to say, if you really feel proud of what you've written then yeah I'll check it out, your works deserve to be heard and read, your books definitely helped me through some fought times and I would be delighted to read your poem.

@Kestrel_6 Heyyy! I really think that if you want to publish it, you should do it. I don't see a reason why it would be bad to publish it, because even though it's different, it's still your amazing work and it's not like people will come hunt you down for it. You think it is a good poem, you feel like people need to read it, to me that sounds like the two main requirements for publishing a poem :D

Okay I’m pretty much sold on the idea to republish the old OMCZ, so yay! I’ll do the same thing I did with The Dragonkin Twins and upload chapters every Wednesday and Sunday (if I remember. I’m a human who has a life and sometimes life gets busy).

          Get ready ;)

Alex_s_p177

@Kestrel_6 yeah i cant wait to read it again ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

I’ve decided now that Dragonkin Twins of over to republish the original version of Outside My Comfort Zone while you wait for the rewrite. I don’t want to fall off the grid and cause my platform to become a ghost town. But, I will not be making ANY updates or finish the book, as that’s what the rewrite is for. Unfortunately I am falling out of love with greenflame, but I can’t bring myself to give up on the project. So, I won’t. Instead, I’m going to motivate myself when I can and write every time I’m in the mood even a little bit. I finally got past the two chapters that left me stumped for months on end, so now I can move forward. I think Outside My comfort zone (the rewrite) will be my last book, though. At least for the time being.

What do you think? Would you enjoy reading the original while the rewrite is still in production?

Alex_s_p177

@Kestrel_6 i would love that since outside my comfort zone is one of the first long books of Greenflame i read but please don't feel forced to do it *hug* *hug*:)

Heyo

I’m still alive, don’t worry. I’ve actually made pretty decent process with the OMCZ rewrite. I debated several times when I should publish it (IF I should publish it) and my original plan was to wait until the book is close to being finished to start publishing chapters, but I honestly have no idea when or if it’ll ever be done. I guess I’ve just lost my passion for creative writing. To be fair, though, writing was my Covid obsession/escape from reality and basically was the only think keeping me sane. After that whole ordeal I moved states and started at a new (small) school which was a hard adjustment. I’m realllllllly tempted to start publishing chapters but the last thing I want to do is leave you all in the dust with an unfinished book like Tournament of Isolation.

I’m not ready to give up on OMCZ yet. I’m very stubborn and will not allow myself to abandon that book. That’s all I have to really say, there isn’t much of a conclusion here lol.

Alenshi

@Kestrel_6 I think that's okay! I have one story that I've left unfinished for a long, long time, and even I don't know what I want to do with it. I had really cool ideas for it at first, but in the end I left it in the dust because I lost the need to write at that time. The decision is always up to you in the end, but I think that even if you post chapters regularly, irregularly or whatnot, it's something you like to do. :)
No need to feel pressured at all - I hope writing still serves as comfort for you, at least. Have a good day!
