They can sing and dance, they can say "I love you" to their fans. But they fear scandal, they fear their private lives being exposed, they fear the day they will be fired and mercilessly ostracized. E.g, I'm not sure about this, but I've heard it's not uncommon.
2. That's the musician. I assert that they "sold their souls" to music. Their lives were a series of major scandals. They may face addiction, illness, depression, or even undesirable criminal behavior. But their music still has listeners, especially since they have timeless hits. Even after they're gone, fans still listen to their music. E.g: Michael Jackson, Chester Bennington...

@Linkingking Oh, boy. This is going to be interesting to answer. Answering Point 1, the idol culture is mostly popular and well-known in Asian countries especially Japan and Korea. Although, I don't know much about the idol's safety because sometimes it can be a joke as the police just ignores them. Answering Point 2, you're not entirely wrong. There are musician who just loves singing even if they're not popular simply because they have the talent to do so.
