"Sometimes you read a book and it feels you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put together unless and until all living humans read the book."
"But there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can't tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal." - John Green, 'The Fault in Our Stars'
I wonder what was going through John Green when he wrote that book. Such a poignant and beautiful story. You underline almost every line in every page. And when the book ends you want to go to him and shake him. This can not be the ending. This cannot be the ending of the book. But it is. It is. You can't go to him and you can't shake him because "the world is not a wish granting factory." And so the ending doesn't change. You are not okay for the rest of the day or week or rest of your life. Because some books break you. Like my 'Orphans' And so it teaches you about life. You learn something.
And books like that you never want to read them again but you never forget them. They stay with you forever. Special and rare and yours. You want to gatekeep them.
But the already broken appreciate books like that because they give them comfort. Oh I'm not alone. Someone out there has gone through this. Knows what it is like to feel like this. My experiences and emotions aren't entirely novel and isolated. And that is the beauty of literature. Of reading.

-" What if we don't have to be healed to be whole? There are holes in every inch of the fabric that makes me who I am." - ANDREA GIBSON
Write something. Write something. Write something. My screen timeout goes off. I turn it on again and I type and delete. Type and delete. I don't know what to say and yet I am so full of emotions. But i type because words matter. Words matter. Writing matters. Poetry matters. Poetry matters. It has saved me so many times. So many times. Andrea Gibson saved me many times. Many times.
I am absolutely devastated and so heartbroken to learn of the passing away of The Beautiful, talented and absolutely amazing Poet Andrea Gibson. I Absolutely love their work so much. They were one of a kind. I am failing to express and put into words how wonderful they have been.
Their words broke me apart and seeped into every crevice of my being. Then brought me together again and ...
"Every time I ever said i want to die I meant I am willing to do anything to survive"- ANDREA GIBSON
I am thankful for their life. For their words and talent that they selflessly shared with us. I am grateful for having known their work and may they rest in power.
The brightest stars go soonest.
May your Soul glow and blossom amongst other beautiful stars.
"Friend- you are who taught me that a difficult life is not worth less living than a gentle one. Joy is just easier to carry than sorrow. And you could lift a city from how long you 've been holding what's been nearly impossible to hold."- ANDREA GIBSON
