I write about health and sexuality, as well as mystery novels set in San Francisco.

For 35 years (1972–2007), my journalism focused on health defined broadly, including: optimal wellness, mainstream medicine, alternative therapies, nutrition, fitness, and sexuality.

In 2007, I largely retired from health journalism, but continued to write about sexuality. I blog, “All About Sex” for PsychologyToday.com, and answer questions for free from people of all ages on the web site, GreatSexAfter40.com.

I also write mystery novels set in San Francisco. My protagonist is newspaperman and historian Ed Rosenberg, named after a childhood friend who died young. The novels also feature Rosenberg’s girlfriend-then-wife, Julie Pearl, their two children, and a good deal of San Francisco’s golden, quirky, raunchy history.
