《Dinner》
Footsteps getting slower as he count to five after it stops. He could hear the door was clicked close and he breath out in relief. It's already night and children around his age should have already fall asleep. Except for him. He has something to do before that after all.
Moments later, when he has confirmed the coast is clear, he tip-toed downstairs heading to the kitchen. He hadn't eat anything since morning except for some toasts. There's no way he could fall asleep with ignoring the pain in his stomach.
Opening the cover, he smiled a bit when a plate of rice entered his vision. He knows it's strange for her to not put the remaining dinner in the fridge before going to bed but he was thankful for it. Maybe she had forgotten to do it? Even if it's only a plate of rice, as long as it could satisfies his hunger, then it shouldn't be a problem. Ever since he was still small, he had learned to be grateful and not waste anything edible.
After he ate it all clean, he washed the plate and drink some water before heading back to his room. Sitting at the windowsill, he gazes up to the night sky. Stars twinkling brightly and among them seems to be moving to another direction. Looking closely, it's actually not a moving star but it's a light from a moving vehicle soaring up high in the sky.
Standing back on his own two feet after minutes passed, he closed the window and walk towards the bed. Snuggling under a worn out duvet in delight before falling asleep. Tomorrow going to be another fresh start of school and he needs his energy to go through out the day.
