I just finished a poetry book that dives into interrogation pressure, coercion tactics, and the way the body responds to fear. This one came from a deep place, and it feels powerful to finally put these experiences into words. Threatening someone is not proof of anything. If there is a villain in the story, find the real one instead of blaming the person who is simply trying to survive their truth.

@KindiBayler That makes a lot of sense, and it really comes through in your poems the initial sharpness followed by a sense of calm intention. It’s a powerful combination.
          	  I work in a similar way when creating short cinematic book trailer videos, especially for poetry and emotionally driven books—starting from a strong feeling or image, then shaping it into something that reflects the heart of the work. If you ever consider a visual trailer for this collection or future projects, I’d be happy to collaborate.

@gailboktrailer Most of my poems start as something sharp in the moment, like a line or an image I have to get down before it fades. But the finished version usually comes later, when I can breathe and shape it from reflection. So it’s a mix:

@perlious-heart   Hi KindiBayler,

          	  I came across your profile while browsing poetry on Wattpad, and I honestly had to stop and read more. Thick Skin, Blue Soul and Even The Leaving Stays carry such raw honesty the way you turn pain, love, and family into words feels deeply personal and brave.

          	  I’m curious, do your poems usually come from moments as they happen, or do you write more from reflection later on?

          	  I’m also a creative who works with short video book trailers, especially for poetry collections and emotional stories, and your work instantly stood out to me visually. I’d love to connect, even just to talk creativity and storytelling.

          	  Wishing you continued inspiration

Tomorrow, my new book Nervous System Reset: Calming a Body That Learned Survival will be available on Amazon.
          I’ve spent this entire year writing, studying, and rebuilding myself from the inside out.

          When people doubt you, twist your words, or try to force you into stories that aren’t yours, the only thing left to do is turn the truth into something powerful.
          So I did.

          And in just a few days, my next book, When You Reach and I Retreat, will be released too.
          Both projects are pieces of the journey I refused to apologize for anymore.

          I refuse to ever let someone threaten me into saying things I never did. My truth isn’t negotiable anymore.

Hey!

            Your story really stuck with me, it flowed so cinematically that I kept seeing it in comic form as I read. I’m a comic artist and I do commissions, and I’d genuinely love to see what this could look like as a visual piece. No rush at all, but if that’s something you’d want to explore, you can always reach out on Discord (islagrace_24). Would love to share ideas!

            thanks,
            isla
