MegaHURTz Author Bio
I was born in Yonkers, NY, to the son of Hungarian (Galitsian) immigrants, and the daughter of Czech (Bohemian) immigrants. When I was 1 yr old, my parents moved to a small rural village in upstate NY. Three years later my mother died of an embolism within a week of the birth of her 4th child. Despite my father's efforts, I and my 3 siblings grew up in an atmosphere of neglect, abuse, and what, by today's standards, would be considered poverty.
In hindsight, I realizes I was dyslexic, borderline autistic, contemptuous of authority in any form, and asocial. I lived in a world of cruel reality made by others, and a surreal fantasy of my own making. As an older human being, I still often have problems telling the difference.
At certain times in my life, testing showed me to be gifted in certain areas, and certain key people became advocates at critical times in my life. I'm not sure if they really existed, or if I just imagined them. But either way, I am grateful to them!
I invest my spare time in reading and writing. I am still trying to make sense of love, sensuality, sexuality, spirituality, innocence, caring and empathy. I am still trying to comprehend transcendental "a priori" concepts such as truth and beauty.
I contribute my academic and career success not so much on what I was taught by teachers, or books, classroom situations, or mentors, but on an intuitive knowledge of what the preparers of TESTS were (and are) looking for. And what they were/are looking for is any sign that someone (like me) is defective, and to be excluded.
Some people say I can be witty and charming, when I care to expend the effort, which isn't often. My favorite pastime is occasionally discontinuing my epilepsy medication, and watching the resultant lightning storms in my brain. They are quite beautiful, awe-inspiring, and create moments of perfect perspective and lucidity.
