New volumes make me think, sometimes. Like, I always get frustrated when I read Y1V11 because Arisu and Kiyotaka had the room to nullify Tsukishiro's interference. First of all, he could have pulled a Ryuen: just as he ultimately knew Arisu would have given praise votes to him and a protection point out of defiance to Tsukishiro, he could have told her to give them to Horikita and then show up as the commander regardless. All the personnel and equipment Tsukishiro had was prepared in response to Kiyotaka being given the protection point and becoming the commander.
          
          Or, alternatively, both aware of why Tsukishiro had come to the school, neither of them get the protection point and the commander position goes to Hashimoto and Horikita respectively.
          
          This post comes after me grinding several key scenes for Choice of Desire, as I intend to get back to updating it after I get more of my thesis done, so around...late september i guess.

@KingFabia "the match is fated to happen", arisu herself states that it was unreliable and yet it happened, it is a pure favor out of the probabilities.
            
            also tsukishiro interfered with the chess match itself, whetever Koji and arisu are soldiers or commanders strictly change nothing, as he modified the imput, the only thing that change is the expulsion risk for the losing commander, but again the protection point cancels such a risk.
            
            Finally, Tsukishiro wanted arisu to follow his plan, and not give Ayanokouji a Protection Point, hence rendering any possibilites of a safe 1v1 null, arisu betraying tsukishiro by confering koji this shield point was the best decision, and what entails your argument, foresight wise, relates to wishful thinking, and not proper cause & effect reasoning hence it does remain false, sorry.

@ Gabybel_  I'm just stating a hypothetical. And, Kiyotaka would have no doubt understood the correlation between the Class Vote Exam and the Event Selection Exam. By bargaining with Sakayanagi to have Class A's praise votes to anyone else capable of realistically gathering many votes, be it Yosuke if you dont want it to be Suzune - for the record,  i was making a parallelism by imagining Suzune and Hashimoto as commanders - and at the same time directing praise votes to Hashimoto or Katsuragi instead of Arisu, you block Tsukishiro from interfering and, since the chess match is fated to happen, you get a 1v1. Simple as, wrong it may be.
