we celebrate this day bc we’re all supposed to be free, meanwhile people are literally kneeled at the feet of their oppressors asking for water everyone should be entitled to. we do not have independence, we have just enough room to have free will, and over time we’ve just learned to be content with that. we will never be free if we keep limiting ourselves when we think they’ve giving enough, because they gave us nothing. chains will never be broken when enough people put them on in their daily routine to keep the the white man in business. any of you who think this is a celebration of independence need to open your eyes to see it’s a distraction of the people who never cared about america’s greatness, but to shrink her just enough to use her as an armrest.

all of my supporters vanished. i used to have friends that would read every poem, vote on them, and comment under every stanza. now i have people how just don’t interact at all, don’t care most of the time, and/or people that don’t want a connection w me. guys i rlly rlly want the connection with my readers again. i miss yall.

and so i sat there on the counter, on the verge of tears, waiting for my mother to come out and console me. i was on the other side of the wall hoping she’d show, and she was too exhausted to stay awake. she never opened that door.
