do you have a specific direction where you want this story to go? think about how you want to get there. it's kinda like life. you have a specific goal in mind, and you plan out the steps to get there. so, set a goal in mind for your stories, and plan out the main plot points in each chapter to help you reach that goal. for example, susie loves bob, her childhood best friend. plot twist! bob is gay! town bad-boy steve warned her, but she didn't listen and confessed to bob. #foreveralone, as far as bob is concerned. in comes writers block! you think to urself, dammit! what the crap am i supposed to do now? u start planning. steve is susie's new love interest. she just doesn't know it yet. your goal is to get susie to love steve. so, how are you going to do that? well, in the next chapter, susie has to have some reason to talk to steve, so their relationship can grow. susie runs out of gas. steve saved her on his badass motorcycle. he pays for her car to get fixed, takes her out to eat, while they check it over, etc, susie feels indebted, he tells her she can pay him back by going out with him again. next chapter, they have a date, susie forgets her sweater in his car. maybe there's something in one of the pockets that causes drama, leaving the readers with a cliff hanger. next chapter, steve gives back the sweater. here, you come to a for in the road, a.k.a. u hav 2 options, 1. the thing can be missing and important and she can go inquire steve about it (i'm pretty sure i used that word right...), or option 2, the object can be something bad and piss steve off, seeing he's mad and taking a liking to him, she wants to fix it. but, before she can fix it, in the next chapter she deals with being ignored, and obviously doesn't like it, then in the next chapter she confronts steve, etc. somewhere in there bob gets a boyfriend, susie gets competition, who is really just steve's sister (plot twist!) and so on.
