Watching Blue Lock Season 2, Ep 36, right now, and WTF, Shidou? He makes me low-key uncomfortable, but like I don't hate him. In fact, I think he's pretty funny, like go off, demon boy. You do you, you absolute freak (positive). Also, he and Sae are basically a couple at this point, you can't tell me that Shidou isn't at least gay for Sae. In conclusion, bro is like the Christophe Giacometti of football/soccer. I know Bungou Stray Dogs has some "you can't expect me to believe they're straight" scenes but damn, Blue Lock is just like on a whole different level. Muneyuki Kaneshiro really said, "Match my freak!" and then matched, no surpassed his own freak and I fucking love it!!! (I heard he wrote horror manga before this and that makes so much sense with all the players saying they'll devour one another. I might need to read the manga. @Muddys_Pawzz cuz I know you've watched Blue Lock before

I think them having that accent is used to convey them being from a rural prefecture, but normally, it isn't so intense, at least not in any anime I've seen so far. Normally, it's just cutting off words a bit, like saying "Ya" instead of "You", but this is the first time I've heard it be so pronounced. (I should add this in an edit, I think I meant to, but . . . i forgor) Also, I'm just not used to hearing that accent in general (I don't know anyone with a Southern United States accent), so it was strange. LOL, I'm just weird I guess.

PART TWO: At first, Nanase and Hiori having Southern United States accents in the English was kind of, I don't know how to describe it, but it bothered me. I'm not saying that anything is bad about that accent, but they're Japanese, why would they have it (as opposed to General American English)? But now I've gotten used to it, and Hiori's voice high-key makes me melt. Like idk why, I didn't think I was like that but okay, I guess. (I'm particularly referring to the scene in their V U-20 match when he subs in for Chigiri b/c that's when I first noticed it.) Maybe it's because I was watching with headphones which I haven't done before so I heard everyone's voices better, idk. Unrelated but, that scene with Reo and Nagi, when Reo subs in for Niko, the romantic music, it felt like a romance anime. I swear those two are basically canon. It's like they're fighting with Sae and Ryusei for who can be gayer on the field (Though I think Ryusae are def winning).
