This is my final decision: I am not going to read any books where the use of italics or brackets replaces the use of quotation marks. It’s just too confusing for me. I am surprised that none of the readers of these stories ever mentioned it to the authors, since it is a glaring problem for many readers.

I can pretty much always tell when a Wattpad writer starts writing for Dream.me and Radish. They start stretching out stories and adding entirely new story lines that should be separate books. It's bad writing, and it is actually exploitative of the readers since sometimes it can cost over $30 to read a book using one of those services because of all the padded chapters.

I'm always glad when writers are able to make money from their hard work. However, this isn't the best model since it is likely to lose them readers rather than gaining new ones.

I would buy a lot of these books if they were available online, But I am not buying them chapter by chapter for over $20.

I just checked in on a book series that seemed so promising but ended up being a masterpiece of internalized misogyny. Readership dropped from over 100K for the first in the series to less than 20K for the last book, and I think it's a sign that more readers are not mistaking cheating and abuse as romance, not matter what the excuse.

Ugh, I do not get some authors. I was reading a trilogy that started out with a heroine with self respect and a cheating boyfriend and it looked so promising, but it turned into a portrait of a doormat and a disgusting manho.

I know authors shouldn't be wed to likes and comments, but this author went from six-figure likes to four-figure as the series progressed. All of the remaining commenters don't care how the heroine is treated, they just think it is romantic and the couple is destined to be together. It is soooo messed up.
