I'm 27 with a somewhat twisted mindset that i like to turn it into creativity. 

 Lessens the noise in my head and helps distract myself in a good way. 

 I like to write stories with dark themes and sometimes sensitive topics. 

 My characters a majority of the time contain mental disturbances. 
I will also write fantasy based stories when i can.
 
 i personally prefer writing poetry. But my poetry can sometimes turn into a need for more background.
