I grew up in Upstate New York in a tiny little town. I never got the chance to meet my grandfather, he passed before I was born. My grandmother, we called her Nana, was a character for sure. She lived almost 40 years more after his death, never dated nor remarried. I found out after her death that she kept all the letters her and my grandfather wrote to one another after he was drafted into the Navy for WWII. I've been intrigued ever since. I'm using this platform to transcribe their letters for anyone who'd like to read a true love story - written between the lovers themselves. Its not always the most exciting, but is 100 percent real. I only changed their names and the tiny towns name in the story - all the spellling, grammar and mispunctation is because I am simply transcribing what is written on the pages.

There are a lot, I mean a lot of letters (even some missing I hope to find again) so it will be a work in progress.

I tried writting a fictional story with a storyline that interested me - at the first go - with a somewhat of a traditional writting style it didn't get much traction. So I started to write it, similarly to my grandparents love letters to see if that might be more interesting (not sure it will be though) So.... if you like my granparents letters - check out my fictional story as well.

Please, please send me feedback - I welcome all of it - the good, the bad and the ugly!

Hope you enjoy and hope to hear from you!!
